Telephone service is billed as per the fee schedule below. Payment is expected online by VISA or MasterCard using the PAYPAL service.

Telephone service is available Monday to Friday, 9:30am - 4:30pm EST.

Telephone Service  - Conditions 

Please read the conditions below for telephone service. If you are in agreement, then click on the email agreement link at the end. This will launch your email program. Read the message in the email, add information as requested, then send. I will respond to set an appointment

You are the "client" and Gary Direnfeld is the "consultant."

Conditions:

As the client, I agree to the following conditions in order to obtain a telephone consultation:

1. Due to the nature of a telephone consultation, the consultant will not be able to rely on visual cues as would be available in face to face communication. Further, the consultant can only rely on the information provided by the client. As such, the consultant may not be privy to the full range of information affecting the client's case or situation. Therefore, the client's reliance on any information provided by the consultant is solely at the risk of the client. The client holds harmless the consultant for the service offered.

2. The value of telephone service is to gain a new perspective on a situation or to be offered alternative approaches to consider with the view to resolving a problem. However, there is no guarantee that the service will be helpful.

3. The client agrees to pay costs as set out below and may be required to make a payment prior to receiving the service.

4. All matters remain confidential with the following exceptions:

• Any past or imminent harm or abuse to a child currently younger than 16 years of age will be reported to proper authorities.

• Any imminent threat of harm to self or to another adult will be reported either to proper authorities and/or to other persons who may be required to intervene as necessary.

• Courts may order disclosure of a file.

Fees:

As a social worker, I am respectful of people's different income levels. As such, the fee is set on a fee-for-service basis using a sliding scale that ranges from $100 - $400 per hour in Canadian dollars. The actual fee then is determined by your income (joint income for couples), although no verification is required. You will be charged from the beginning of the scheduled appointment time, even if you are late. Further, time will be taken at the beginning of our meeting for me to present my qualifications, experience and approach to counselling so that service is provided on an informed basis. This is deemed part of the time provided and billed for.

Clients provide payment by PayPal (PayPal excepts major credit cards) at the end of each session. 

Third Party Payments (EAP and other Benefit Providers):

Pleased be advised that I do not accept payment by third party payers (benefit or EAP providers) whatsoever. People are directly responsible for payment of services as per the information above at the time of service. A receipt will be provided with which persons can seek reimbursement from their EAP or benefit provider. I take no responsibility for your reimbursement. Reimbursement remains a matter between you and your benefit or EAP provider. 

If you do seek reimbursement through your benefit or EAP provider and I am called to verify the charge, I will do so with your implied consent. My disclosure will be limited to advising of my credentials as well as verifying the billing information, service provided and persons served. No information regarding the nature or content of information discussed will be provided without signed consent, for which you will be charged as per the time required.

Confidentiality:
